A Process for this Assignment

1. Read and annotate Part Three of Guns, Germs and Steel. Bring annotations to class on Thursday, Feb 10.
2. Using the assigned readings, decide how you want to present the chosen website and gather the necessary information using the suggestions in those assigned readings;
3. Based on your perspective and the material from the sources, use the provided approach for coming up with the essay's thesis;

4. Write a draft of your essay, being sure that it makes a point of value to thoughtful readers (such as college students and teachers). Where appropriate, use quotes or paraphrases from the text to shed some light on what is happening in your discussion of your issue. (This is optional except for the introduction of the essay, but a good idea if you can make it work.) Post this draft to the appropriate forum before midnight on the date designated in the calendar;
5. Use feedback to revise and make the essay more effective. Do not revise just at the surface/micro level (grammar, punctuation, word choice, that sort of thing) but on the global/macro level (topic choice and focus, detail arrangement and choice (to add or delete), that sort of thing) which will make the essay more effective.
6. Read the essay, revise the essay, and do it again and again until you've made it the best you can.v Due for grading on date designated in course calendar.
