the final glass and menagerie

So I am guessing the title of the play refers to Laura, and then the breaking of the glass figure resembles her breaking from her shy past. I actually felt this was intriguing, even though I sort of saw it coming from before. What was disappointing or not engaging was how the "gentleman caller" scene played out. I was expecting something more but it didn't seem like they got really anywhere with it. I guess it would be sort of cliche in that way so it was probably for the better. I didn't hate Amanda as much in the end as I did previously, but that is probably because my feelings towards her were always changing throughout it.

Amanda
Ya she's pretty annoying-she doesn't seem to just let things alone. She tries to control everything but she's such a nag in the process. I try to be sympathetic in general when you look at single mom's in her situation, but it was so hard to feel sympathy for her, you have to wonder if she drove her husband away or if she became that way after he left...who knows. But I was really hoping that Laura would end up with a nice guy who had the characteristics to compliment her shyness.
