I would like to introduce Jenny to the class.
Jenny has only been in Spokane for five months and hails from Richland in the Tri-cities. The impression i got from talking to her was that she is a caring person that is interested in using her life experiences to help others in need with theirs. She wants to do work study at the VA hospital and would like to double major in English and Counseling at Eastern. From what i heard i think Jenny will be a great person to help others and am sure she will have no problems doing so.

Hi, Jenny!
Counseling and English as a double major sounds like an interesting combination. What are Jenny's long term plans-- is she going to combine the two in her field or will they be two separate career options?
Careers
I have such a wide-range of career interests. I've considered about six different majors, but keep coming back to English in the end. I have a passion for literature and history, as well as helping others. I have plans to become a literature teacher, specifically creative writing or American Literature. I would enjoy teaching in a college setting. Though, I am very into history. Primarily studies on the World War II, and the the Vietnam War. Teaching literature and history wouldn't be so bad. However, I also am very interested in Thanatology (the study of death) very dark I know, but grief counseling is also something I would enjoy doing. I like reaching out and trying to help others cope. I hope one day that I can figure out a way to combine the two somehow, otherwise I will just have to see where my interests really take me.
