To My Eevee
well i had some initial difficulties getting this off the ground right from the start in trying to immediatly make it in sonnet form, so instead i started in freeverse and let it see where it would take me. heres how that came out.
Thou fleet of paw, shimmering wonder
of silver and cyan charm, with but a
glance you can melt away all concerns
with your collected carefree eyes.
swift in combat but light on your feat,
master of elements that you are, moon to
sun, fire to water, electricity to earth,
ice to earth and back again to the rainbow.
what dark tempests your heart clears away,
and brings those carefree smiles to our eyes.
black is the day, when you bring not smiles
but frowns in your wake at your appearence.
fleet of paw, glittering silver and
cyan, thou art keeper of my happiness.
From there i had a pretty good idea on how i wanted it to semi follow, so i then went and checked out sonnet composition and settled on using the petrarchan sonnet style for my second. had to use a dictionary a couple of times and a rhyme generator but in the end i found that it turned out very pleasing to my eyes and my ears, so im happy with it. hope you enjoy it.
Your fleet of paw, silver-cyan charm
of elemental mastery, from moondark
to sunbright, is let known that your bark,
will never bring my happiness harm.
Your carefree eyes, rebound the love
and clear the black tempest of my soul.
The wavewashed, blacksanded beach shoal
that fit my tastes like a well made glove;
both bring my joy from the ground to sky
never can or will my warmth amount to nigh
when you are near. For with but a glance
you bring my happiness, leaving not a chance
for frowning to pass me by and leave me tart.
You silver-cyan friend, you keeper of my heart.

I concur. Rhyme generator..nah. But I believe a dictionary and thesaurus are a must with any form of writing. My vocabulary lacks.

But I'm a Weenie!
I only used it if I wanted a certain mood to be portrayed but I couldn't remember the proper word or phrase for the life of me! I used a thesaurus but I'm horrible with rhymes. I didn't mean to offend or anything. I just really suck at poetry.

i concur with the above statement
sometimes you dont always have the word you need and cant think of anything at all. for me a rhyme generator is the tool of last resort, and often comes up with words you hadnt even contemplated using in that particular area(s). and its not like im any great shakes here with poetry either...oh god that was a pad pun....lol

rhyme generator
the problem with a rhyme generator is that you miss out on the beauty of half-rhymes. i really like how you posted your rough draft too.

and...
I looked up this whole rhyme generator thing, and a lot of the words didn't even rhyme with the word I put...Maybe they were some far off near rhyme, but I think I'd rather get them the old fashion way.
same thing, i was a bit
same thing, i was a bit annoyed with that but i only had to use it like twice when i was dreadfully stuck.

Kitty!
I'm just guessing but I think you are talking about your cat! I was going to do a sonnet about my dog, or boyfriend, but you already did one about your pet and I'm sure my boyfriend would shoot me if I did one about him, out of love of course. I like how you don't directly say "cat" or "dog" It makes the whole thing sound much more elegant and sophisticated and fancy! Where did you find the rhyme generator? I could really use one.

actually, eevee is a pokemon
im heavily into the pokemon thing, if you look on my profile you might kinda see why i chose eevee as my little ball of adorableness. okay yes it sounds girly but...oh well. as for the ryme generator i just buzzed google for one, and a thesaurus is also very helpful in lack of one.
