A Love of Writing But Not Poetry
This is my incredibly creative idea for a poem that I thought of after doing inventory until midnight last night.
Thoughts buzzing in my reeling head,
Of words yet written and tales conveyed.
Chapters appear as I lay typing in bed.
Hot tea turns cold from drinking belayed.
The evening hours fade into morn
As fingers flit ‘cross paper and keyboard.
An expression of my core is born
And sleep ensues the shielding of ink sword.
Words and books have forever intrigued
My young mind with mystery and thrill,
But poetry sadly has me fatigued.
For it conversely is a rival.
Though countless efforts I have committed,
A poem insufficient must be admitted.
I thought it was rather witty. :]

Neat-o
That is a really neat poem. It really gives me a good mental picture. But, contrary to the last line, that it is a sufficient poem.
Creative
I really like this poem. It is very creative and it made me laugh. The way that it is written has a very easy flow too it. I cant remember a time that my hot tea does not turn cold, seems like a daily thing.
The imagery
I loved the phrase "ink sword". It just gave me the best imagery for a pen I can think of. I really liked the poem and I agree that it is hard to write sometimes. Brain block!
Very Creative
I'm happy to see this posted, especially after hearing you read it today! This is very well written-I can really see the image in my head. And a familiar one at that. I especially like the line "Hot tea turns cold from drinking belayed." Whenever I write and have tea, I always seem to forgot that I have it and by the time I remember it's cold :(

Same here!
The same thing always happens to me. When you read it aloud, that line popped out and I could really imagine the feeling. I loved hearing this one!

Cold Tea
I know! It makes me so depressed! I also usually have something to eat too but it ends up getting every where by the time I'm done and it's a hassle to clean up.

it's coffee with me
And it's boring when it gets cold, unless it's iced, but that only works when it's warm. Bradley

your right, it was rather
your right, it was rather witty. though as opposed to shielded, i would have placed the word sheathed there instead
