Jennie's Sonnet

In a haze I saw daylight skies turn black,
In pain and skepticism, I looked back.
Lost in hope too late, slowly my head turned,
O my wild confusion is so burned.
The cig’rette ashes of your frame remain
Warmth of your memory, hold and sustain.
Sense the sneak waves creeping up on my soul,
My spirit longing to play a new role.
Your presence blows, and mixes with the wind,
An aura around me, it never thins.
Your peace it deems more important to me,
Than to have you here but not have you be.
Bound together by these dreams, on and on
One day to share again a gold, eternal dawn

Great stuff!
"Lost in hope too late." I love that line. I can feel the conflict from this poem. I love all your word choice too. Well done!

Fantastic imagery, and an excellent sonnet
I love how you've described things so ambiguously, but almost vividly. "The cig'rette ashes of your frame remain warmth of your memory, hold and sustain." It really paints the picture in your head so easily, but then you have to really think about it to try to figure out what it means.
