What is X?

No really, what is X? I was not in class yesterday, but I think I may have a vague idea of what you are asking. What we say can be interpreted in many different ways sometimes. Language is a powerful tool and can be manipulated by both the speaker and the audience. That's all I got on this one . . . Melissa

Good Example

The next best example to the point of the X-ercise (haha) would be that how you read our blogs on X is way different than how we read them. It shows that in everyday life we are faced with what is X questions, so this exercise isn't just about understanding Shakespeare, but people in general.

Yes...

I like the explanation you gave. It is kinda neat to think how language is is the base for a society. I would hate to think how bad off we would be without it. Also, like in our exercise, how the speaker conveys the message greatly influences how the audience perceives it. It is weird how the same words can mean completely different things depending on how you say it.
