The Video

All I can really say about the video is that it added personality to the charcacters. You could see how quickly Richard's demeanor changed, by facial expression and posturing, when he was getting chewed out by old Gaunt. Its just easier to watch the play to see every charcters emotions come to life. It adds more to the scene and play

Just wondering.
Strange how watching a Shakespeare play helps us understand the reading, but watching a movie made from a book usually ruins everything... Anyway, do you think Richard's emotions changed from Act I to Act II? What personality was added to Richard for you? I think it reinforced how horrible Richard really is. He is a mean boy.

Oh, Most Definitely
Richard's personality seemed to shift from being high and mighty to having some doubts about himself, though he at this point it's only very slight. He loses his confidence for like a split second when Gaunt is chewing him out. It also displayed his pure indifference to what other people thought about him. The actor (who's name escapes me) really added to these aspects through his body positioning and just the way he was speaking, especially when he was retaliating to Gaunts accusations. His tonal change was the best part, though.
