Richard is still wrestling with his emotions and is even pitiful in these last parts of the play. He also seems to be quite the epitome of a dynamic character in how his views and thoughts seem to change as his predicament worsens and the plot thickens. Harry however is a static character caught up in himself as he constantly gains more power and his advantage over Richard becomes more predominate. Harry is obvious angry at the death of his father but this does not stop him in dealing with Richard in a somewhat respectful manner portraying him as a controlled responsible person, quite the opposite of Richard who is much more reckless.
