In the play it seems that the ideal government for most of the characters is one based in Christianity and one that keeps the nobles happy. Unfortunately we saw in history that crap doesn't work and normally ends with a bunch of pissed off peasants standing around their former king or queen strapped into a guillotine covered in rotten vegetables. Honestly I didn't learn anything about how to survive the government from this play, I came into adulthood during the horrific reign of Bush Junior, a time to keep your head down. I am not sure if I could ever recover from it, the sheer disgust in all things government. Throwing money away, keeping the rich rich, making the middle class poor and keeping the poor poor. Anyone in government should grow the spring like tail of a pig so we can identify them. What standards should we adhere to? I think we should as that of our government, what standards do you adhere to? I feel that anyone involved in government is a representation of our government and the laws they created, so anyone in a seat of power from the lowly police all the way up to the president, all his lackeys and everyone in between should be held to a double legal standard. So when fat Mr. Alabama republican senator who votes to have all drug users put away indefinitely crashes his jaguar into a streetlamp out of his mind on vicoden instead of walking like he probably would he should be given a sentence twice that of a normal citizen. I know damn well senators get pulled over F'd out of their mind and the cop just waves them on but if that happened to me, see you in 10 to life.

I loved this post. You
I loved this post. You totally hit it on the nose. Our government it just a bunch of greedy pigs.
Nobles and Vegetables.
Perhaps government today could be seen as 'keeping the nobles' happy? Think of all the large corporations that have holds on congressmen and senators? It's all profit driven. What should we do about that since we as the pissed of peasants cant stand around and bludgeon congress to death with rotten vegetables.

as single citizens it's hard
As single citizens it's hard to see what effect we can have on our government. Most people these days either don't feel they can make a difference or don't care enough to try. As citizens we have lost our sense of unity and subsequently we have lost our power effect change and control our government.
