Presentational is definitely the best way to watch a play. The Comedy of Errors especially is better since it was written as a comedy. Presentational works the best with comedic works because it really amps up the comedy and sillyness. The whole idea of the play, twins meeting and mistaking one another for the other one, is so absurd, that if the actors played it representational, it would not keep the audiences' attention. For me, Shakespeare is more approachable when it's funny and it almost seems easier to understand that way. Presentational plays engage the audience and keep them interested in the story that, to many people nowadays, seems archaic and unrelateable.

I agree...

I agree that if this play was done in a representational style the comedy would be lost and the attention would be lost by the audience. I also agree that Shakespeare is more approachable when it is funny. It is defiantly easier to understand.
