Well I think that the most emerging theme in Act 1 is that a death in the family causes tension between the surviving members of the family. In Hamlet, his father is dead and his mother gets remarried in just a couple of months to his uncle. This causes Hamlet to spiral off into a deep depression. Also it creates a riff between Hamlet and his mother, who seem, that before the death of his father, were quite close. She tries to get Hamlet to be more loving and open with her and his new "stepfather", but he doesn't want any part of it. There is also obvious trouble between Hamlet and his new stepfather/uncle since he blames him for taking his mother away. This theme seems like it will carry on through the rest of the play since so many people will die and the death of a loved one is always stressful on the rest of the characters.

nice
i didnt view Hamlet as blaming his uncle/stepfather for taking his mother away from him, but now that you mention it it is very prominent and somewhat explains his explosion of emotions in the first act. I like your theme it deffinitely captures Hamlet in act 1 and his feelings towards his mother and stepfather which creates the tension.
Unhealthy
This was part of the theme that really jumped out at me while I was reading the play. It seemed that Hamlet had a close relationship with his mother, an unhealthy relationship most definitely. It just seemed that he was in a deep depression because he will never really get her all to himself, like he wants. I'm not saying it in a creepy sexual way, but more in a co-dependent kind of way.
