Hamlet Act I

First, I would like to give notice that I will most or all of class today. I am hosting the relaxation event at 1130 and I need to set up sub lounges A and B. If I finish by 11ish I will come for the last half of class.
Having been in class yesterday, I understand the definition of THEME a little more clearly. In class I said betrayal, and "frailty, thy name is woman" were the themes that I got from act 1. So, why are those important? What do they mean / do? Betrayal within a family (King Hamlet's wife remarrying so quickly after his death) can cause dysfunction and angusish within a family. Betrayal on a larger scale (the murder of a king by his brother) can lead to dysfunction and the disabling of an entire country, potentially. I guess I didn't get all that from act 1, but it still works.
I feel that the 'frailty' of women is taken to the extreme in Hamlet, and it kind of makes us look bad as a gender. I will finish this later.
