bleckblog: musings of a community college english teacher

Spokane is located about 100 miles south of the Canadian border and 30 miles west of the Idaho state border, in one of the most beautiful places in the nation. Along with teaching English 101, the somewhat generic first year composition course, I teaching Advanced Composition, Introduction to Literature, American Literature to 1860, and British Literature from the beginning to the present, but not in the same class. My primary academic interest beyond the content of my courses is teaching with technology in ways that prepare students to be critical consumers and users of technology in their lives and as citizens. Besides my wife Rachel and son Tobias, my main non-academic interest is riding one of my bikes.
